Given the political and human rights situation in Iran, Travelwise advises potential visitors to Iran to avoid travelling to the country for both business as well as leisure purposes.
In political terms, Iran is in dispute with a substantial number of western countries, including EU countries, in relation to its nuclear development plans while in human rights terms, Iran continues to breach international human rights provisions.
International sanctions are in place and are likely to be increased and accordingly, the country may be deemed unstable.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Do not travel to Iran for any purpose.
