Yahoo Inc. has begun testing a new service called Yahoo Search Subscriptions, that indexes fee-based content and makes it searchable.
It allows users to view the list of subscription-based sources, the subscribers being offered the possibility to view their content, while the other users can chose to pay the fee for the same option.
Yahoo hope to build customer loyalty by letting people customise their search engine to meet their personal needs. Named personalisation, this device is currently used by their rivals, Google, MSN and others.
