Within the past year, music download sales have grown a lot. Just a year ago there was about 20,000 downloads a week. Now it's 300,000.
As the numbers are growing fast, the songs that are being sold over internet will be included in the UK Singles Chart. This will be the first time internet downloads will be included in it.
However, many independent record labels don't like it much. For the simple reason that they are not represented in many of those internet shops the way they should be. They feel that their artists are not on a level playing field and that before such a change in the charts, some changes have to be made.
