French newspaper Le Figaro posted an opinion poll today to see what French voters think about the proposed European constitution.
The results weren't anything to be happy about - if the referendum would be held now, 52% of the voters would have said NO. A week ago this % was 40.
The actual referendum will take place in May 29 2005.
Should the percentages stay the same and France would say no to the constitution, it would be a great set-back for the EU. France has always been a good supporter of European intergraion, it's former president Valery Giscard d'Estaing was the main author of the constitution. So in case of rejection it might also influence EU's other 24 member states.
