Babel, Mar 30, (VOI)- Iraqi security forces killed four gunmen and arrested 30 others from the Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi army in Babel province, 100 km south of Baghdad, a police source said on Sunday.

Babel, Mar 30, (VOI)- Iraqi security forces killed four gunmen and arrested 30 others from the Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr’s Mahdi army in Babel province, 100 km south of Baghdad, a police source said on Sunday.

“Police forces supported by aircraft launched a large-scale attack in al-Hamza district last night, killing four gunmen and arresting 30,” the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq- Voices of Iraq- (VOI).

The source added “among the arrested were two key leaders of Mahdi army.”

Iraqi governmental forces have been engaged in fight with followers of the Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr in southern Iraqi provinces and Baghdad since Monday.Jay Gory, The Cheers News
